Would Communism work in the US?

Subject: Would Communism work in the US? Sat Mar 10, 2007 5:40 am

I say no, and here's why: the people of the US would not accept a communist society, in spite of the supposed "equality for everyone" ideal. Also, over 100 million have all been killed under a communist government, like Stalin or Russia or Mao Zedong of China. Would you like to live under a government like that?

Communism is alive, well and functioning grandly with the US.

Look at the ten planks of communist manifesto. They are all enacted in various federal statutes.

I have had this conversation many times. For one, all the examples that were named about failed communism were not communism but rather a bastardized form of state capitalism. Since communism has never been really tired, there is no way to say for sure if it would work.

If you move beyond the propaganda, Russia had an amazing literacy rate, adequate health care for all citizens. But since this is a theoretical discussion, I will say we do not know for sure if it will work or not.

I think corporations buying of our lifetime Congressional members and the mega corporate welfare for our monopolies has us likened as communists under the neocon rule already. That, and spying on citizens and making into the law the right to torture citizens pretty much closes the deal on the US is now more communistic in nature than any communist country in existence now.
