Where were you at on September 11, 2001?

I was actually going to put this in the Political Warzone but then I figured it would be pretty personal for all of us. So, where was everyone?

At home, in bed for the first part.

It's my husband's birthday.

I was in my senior year in college and one of my friends was freaking out and saying a plane crashed into the WTC. I thought it was a joke at first, and then my jaw dropped when I clicked on the news and the first tower had smoke coming out of it. I cut class for the rest of the day, seeing what happened and then I found out that the Pentagon was hit, and also the other WTC tower. I actually went to call my mom when both towers fell and luckily I was no where near NYC when it happened.

I was watching the news when the other tower was hit. I called my client that day and asked if she still wanted me to come to work. She wasn't watching the news. Tolder the towers were gone, she said, what do you mean, I said they are GONE. She was shocked as we all were.

I was at work at the time and everybody started getting up and walking towards this one side of the office. I got up and followed to see what it was and that's when I saw the towers on fire. My first thought was that it was just an accident, but then I changed my mind when I heard the Pentagon was hit also.

I was in my 9th grade math class. My teacher's girlfriend worked in one of the towers, so needless to say he was worried. If I remember correctly, he ran out of the classroom without saying much. My school actually tried to keep us in class the whole day like prisoners, they even threatened to suspend us from school for a week. No one cared, everyone just left the school.

They obviously must not have understood that everyone was scared...

Take the suspension and just go home that's what I would've done.
